Where do you think all your interest in drama and the arts comes from?

I traveled a lot as a kid, and my mom would bring me to every art gallery she could. I think that’s why I choose my degree. I get to look at pretty pictures all day. Although, an Art History minor is most useful for impressing people when you’re out at a gallery.

So your minor is really only to impress people...

Yeah, pretty much. Art galleries make for good dates and when better to impress someone? I also get to sound like a know-it-all. That’s attractive, right?

Sure... You’re pretty active behind the Edmonton art scene too.

I am! I'm the youngest board member of Harcourt House Art Gallery, so I am hoping to bring a bit of a youthful perspective to the organization. Hopefully I can help. I'm also on the organizing committee for artsScene which involves young professionals with the arts in Edmonton. Recently we hosted the first ever TEDx event in Edmonton and had amazing people speak and a pretty great after-party too!

I’ll look out for my invitation to speak at the next TEDx event. I heard a story about you giving something up for Lent. Care to expand on that?

I gave up pants for Lent...

Isn’t it cold during Lent? That seems like a bad idea.

Yes and I caught pneumonia, but it was worth it.

How did you even have enough to wear?

Let’s just say I had no problem wearing a different dress on each of the 46 days...

I guess a girl can never have too many dresses.
