Interview

As the man in charge of pub-crawls, you’re a bit of an odd fit for our Arts & Culture issue. Defend your inclusion in this month’s focus.

Well, the whole party world is definitely a culture of its own. Plus, getting anywhere from 50 to 500 people to and from bars while they’re in an inebriated state is certainly an art on its own.

I guess I’ll buy that. How much of this party culture crosses over with the culture of being a student?

There’s a lot of crossover for sure. We’re always having student specials and we even run pub crawls straight from the residences at the U of A and MacEwan. I just want to get people to and from the bars in the cheapest fashion. I’m really blending the party and student cultures together.

You gotta tell me about some of the craziest things you’ve seen doing this job, because I can imagine some interesting stuff goes down.

I’ve definitely seen a lot of women taking off their clothes... Lots of nudity. I’ve even had a few random offers for “sessions” on the bus. Luckily, I’ve never had anyone throw up on the bus under my watch.

You’re also at NAIT doing business. Do you find that school and your job have a lot of crossover?

For sure. I’m not only learning it at school but getting a chance to use it hands-on at work. They really go hand in hand.

I guess I’ll throw journalistic integrity out the window and let you drop a plug for your upcoming pub-crawls.

Nice! Thanks! We have crazy stuff going on for Halloween. We’re going to have 70 buses running all night! It’s going to be a wild party. People can even just give my cell a call! I don’t care! 780-289-WILD!

You are going to get so many unsolicited phone calls and it’s not my fault.
