Interview

You mentioned you’re reading the book “Food of the Gods” by Terence McKenna. Sounds Delicious. What’s it all about?

The book goes through human evolution and combos it with psychedelics and asks: “Why are humans so addicted to trying new things and altered states of consciousness?” So he wonders if hallucinogens somehow affect the brain in such a way that allows for brain evolution to occur.

I’m going to assume you’re reading it instead of finding out first-hand... Next question, what’s your sign?

I’m a Leo, we crave attention and always have great hair, usually golden. I’m right in the middle of Leo, so sometimes I read my horoscope and it has me down to a T and other times it sucks. But usually it’s pretty dead on!

A lot of people think astrological signs are total B.S. I’ll give you this chance to defend the horoscope. Go!

No! Wrong! It’s hard for me to defend, but I like to think that astrology has been around longer than mathematics and that there are way too many coincidences to do with the stars and their angles to ignore their power. I guess I just like to believe in far out things like that, because not believing is not as fun as believing.

I’d believe that. You said your motto is: “I’m not mad at it”. In what kind of situation would you use it?

For example, when people try on clothes, they want my honest opinion. So when they ask: “Is this too tight?” I can say: “I’m not mad at it!” So I don’t really have to answer the question, I just let them think for themselves. I let them decide if my comment is meant to be negative or positive. Is that sort of a cop-out?

Sort of, but I’m not mad at it.
