InterviewRumor has it you’re dating a runway model. Has she taught you how to walk properly?Yeah, she has given me a few pointers. One: foot in front of foot so your hips look narrower. Two: never look side on because then your butt will show, so always face forwards. There’s something I like about walking. I like watching people walk. So that might have something to do with my fascination. Does she influence your style choices? She does add some style to my collection. Honestly, my base operating wardrobe is very bland. Very few designs and very few accessories. She’ll add the finishing touches to what I’m wearing. Outside of work, you also do Improv with Rapid Fire Theatre. How did you get into that?I’ve been doing improv since High School, so for about 5 years. I jumped on stage with the improv group at my school, which was pretty much just the math club. How does the Improv help with being the President of the SU?There’s a lot of talking on your feet, but also there’s definitely flexibility in this job to be innovative and have new ideas, so improv has helped there. Give me some examples of the things you want to accomplish in your first term as President. One thing we plan on doing is a campus wide dodgeball tournament. Now, I don’t want to drop any bombs here... but it may be a Guinness World Record attempt. Second, we’re going to launch a series of Revolutionary Debates. One will be on the energy conflicts in Alberta, one on Creation vs Evolution and one on the conflicts in Israel and Palestine. Finally, are there any inspirational clichés you are contractually obligated to say as president?Honestly, just grip it and rip it and hold on tight, because it’s going to be the ride of your life. Make sure you give 110%, and don’t count your eggs before they’ve hatched because anything is possible, and it’s never too late. |
